	Carolyn was born in Northern California and raised in Hawaii in a family of artists and photographers. After studying art at University of Southern California, University of Hawaii and College of Marin, she combined her Master Gardener degree with her love for photography and passion for travel to tropical locales. She has photographed extensively in Latin America, Africa, Indonesia and Polynesia and was awarded the Gold Medal-Special Jury award at the Virgin Islands International Film Festival. Her work is now in galleries and homes around the world. "I'm blessed to have been given a passion for plant life. Looking through a close-up lens never fails to quicken my heartbeat. When peering through the camera into the most intimate details of nature's creations, one can see the display of life and the process of decay as equally beautiful. From the simplest subtle shape to the complex interweaving of diverse botanical forms, this magic of magnified perspective displays a unique fantasy realm where we all can wander with renewed curiosity, wonder and gratitude."
